Georgetown, Malaysia is a beautiful, colorful and diverse city. Like most of Mainland Malaysia, the city is made up of immigrants from Southern India, China and Malays. Because of this the food is filled with different ethnic influences. You can find great dosa and paratha in Little India, amazing noodles and soups in Chinatown and delicious Coconut Shakes and Shaved Ice around every corner.
One great part of visiting such a diverse culinary city is that there are plenty of options. I am a vegetarian at home but when I travel I don’t want to limit myself to only veggie foods. In order to try all the cultural specialities around the world I will usually end up eating meat. In Georgetown there is a plethora of delicious vegetarian foods.

4. Wholey Wonder Cafe
https://www.facebook.com/wholeywonder/
Wholey Wonder is a cafe and yoga studio all in one. It has a large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes and desserts and is a must see. I recommend going on Sunday because that day there is a pop up crafts and food market that goes from 11:00 am to 5:00pm. You can stop by the market before having lunch at Wholey Bowl and then take a yoga class upstairs after.
What to Order: I went with a friend and we decided to order two dishes and split them. We order the Nourish Bowl which was filled with beets, grilled veggies, quinoa and a tangy spicy sauce that was to die for.
In addition we ordered the Mad Salad which was my favorite. The dish was a cold quinoa salad with red and orange peppers, mango and other yummy veggies mixed in.
As a drink I ordered a dragon fruit and mango smoothie which made the whole meal even better.

Juice Code is a great spot for, you guessed it, JUICE! But it also has delicious breakfast as well. When I went I went specifically to check out their smoothies. I had the Energy Boost which was Coconut water, pineapple, mango and banana. It was delicious, refreshing and just what I needed on a typical hot Georgetown afternoon.
The smoothies and juices run anywhere from 13-15 rm which is roughly 4-5 usd. It is a bit pricey for Asia but still very fair and a great purchase.
7. Two Buns

If you are in the mood for a burger but don’t eat meat then Two Buns is a great choice. The little hole in the wall burger shack has a great mushroom sweet potato veggie burger that is delicious. The patty is a bit soft but if fried to make it a bit crispy. Then there is tomato, cheese and lettuce as usual but instead of stopping there two buns goes two more steps forward. They top the burger off with an over easy egg and BBQ sauce to add a sweet touch. Trust me you will not want to miss this one.
