La Isla grande is located about an hour south of Cartagena de la Indias. The island is a beautiful tropical paradise that is a great place to go scuba diving. The warm water surrounding the island is protected water and is home to hundreds of amazing tropical fish. Scuba diving off of la Isla grande is great for all people of all diving levels.
LA ISLA GRANDE
Located in the Caribbean sea south of Cartagena, La Isla grande is a beautiful destination. It is the largest island in the Rosario Islands, protected water by the Colombian government. The island has multiple resorts and hotels that attract tourists from all over the world each year. But the best part of the island is that it is surrounded by a marine national park. The warm Caribbean water allows divers to dive without a wetsuit if they want and you can see hundreds of different tropical fish.
WHICH DIVING CENTER SHOULD YOU DIVE WITH
There are a lot of different diving centers you can choose from when visiting Cartagena. The one that I recommend is Diving Planet. Diving Planet has over 20 years of experience in diving and protecting the ocean. It is a certified PADI dive shop with a PADI Green Star Award, a 5 Star Rating on Tripadvisor, and recognized by Travel Life, a sustainable tourist agency.
In addition to being a recognized Dive Center, Diving Planet has a Nonprofit foundation that focuses on including people with disabilities in the diving community. A portion of your payment for your dives, courses, and tours goes towards supporting programs that teach people with disabilities how to scuba dive.
