To get your PADI Advanced Open Water Certification you first have to start with your PADI Open Water Certification.

After the initial certification you are required to complete five more lessons and dives to get your Advanced. Out of the five you have to complete a Buoyancy Chapter and Dive, at least one Deep Water Chapter and Dive and a Navigation Chapter and Dive. The other two can be of your own choosing. For example you can do a Nitrox Dive, a Night Dive, Fish Identification etc.
